Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 190-04, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 190-04, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 631, dated May 18, 2004, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the proceeds of the
Hawaii County Fire Department's 2003 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) 911 SK F'un
Run/Walk and Family Day.
I'he proceeds from the Hawaii County Fire Department's 2003 EMS 911 SK Fun Run/Walk and
Family Day has been graciously donated for sports equipment for the Hawaii County Police
Department's F{awai`i Isle Police Activities League Program (HI-PA[,). The value of this
donation is estimated at $3,200.00.
Pursuant to Article X111, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County. may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Firefighter Lance Uchida, EMS Week Coordinator, c/o
Hawaii County Fire Department, 25 Aupuni Street, Room 103, Hilo. Hawaii 96720,
acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 190-04
and rccomtnends its adoption.
