Your Committee on Finance. to which was referred Communication No. 659, reports as follows:
Communication No. 659, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, dated
June 17, 2004, authorizes the acceptance of donation in memory of Mrs. Miyako Takeda and
Mrs. Joyce Watts, by Patrick and Patricia Milligan.
Patrick and Patricia Milligan has graciously donated $50.00 in memory of Mrs. Miyako Takeda
and Mrs. Joyce Watts to the Department of Parks & Recreation for programs at the Pana'ewa
Rainforest Zoo.
Pursuant to Article XI[L Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Also, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(c), Hawaii County Code, any donation or
gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the department of finance shall be
submitted to the council by letter for its approval.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Patrick & Patricia Milligan, 14671 Danborough Road,
'Tustin, CA 92680-6755; and a letter will be sent to Mrs. Janice Iwamoto, 19362 Pilario Street,
Rowland Heights, CA 91748 (in memory of her mother, Miyako Takeda) and to Mr. Bill Watts,
4319 Broadmoor Street, Covina, CA 91722 (in memory of his wife. Joyce Watts),
acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the acceptance of the $50.00 donation from Patrick
and Patricia Milligan.
