Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 200-04, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 200-04, transmitted by Director of Finance William 'Cakaba, via Communication
No. 660. dated .Tune 17, 2004, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Neighborhood
Place of Kona's Pulama Project.
'The Neighborhood Place of Kona's Pulama Project has graciously donated forty (40) American
Red Cross Guardstart Participant Kits; one (1) American Red Cross Leaders Kit with video; nine
(9) SurFlifc Waikiki Surfrider Surtboards; and six (6) Water Rescue Projects Lifeguard Rescue
'tubes to the Department of Parks & Recreation's Aquatic Divisions. The value of this donation
is estimated at $2,400 and will be used for the Junior Lifesaving and Guardstart programs at the
Konawaena Pool.
Pursuant to Article X[I[, Section 13-12, t{awai'i County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County. may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Ms. Kathy Jo Kube, Project Coordinator, 75-5565 Luhia
Street R-1, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. 96740, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 200-04
and recommends its adoption.
