Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 201-04, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 201-04, transmitted by Director of Finance William ~'akaba, via Communication
No. 661, dated .Tune 17, 2004, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more
than one kcal year for multi-year (ease for two copiers.
The Office of the Corporation Counsel and its Family Support Division wishes to enter into
tivc-year lease agreements for two copiers. Funds would be budgeted in future fiscal years to
cover the anticipated costs.
The leases on the office's two copiers currently in use will be expiring on October 2004.
Obtaining a lease on a newer, more technically advanced copier will increase staff productivity
via faster digital copying, scanning, and network printing.
Pursuant to Section 10-1 1. Hawaii County Charter. any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 201-04
and recommends its adoption.
