Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 279. reports as follows:
Bill No. 279, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 646, dated
June 2.2004, amends Chapter 2. Article 16, Section 2-97, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995
Edition). relating to travel and other expenses.
The purpose of this measure is to increase the allowable daily rental cost of U-drive cars and parking
charges from $50.00 to $60.00. Currently, the cost of renting a U-drive car and parking charges shall
not escced $50.00 per day. However, due to rising rental car and parking rates, a $60.00 per day limit
would be more reasonable.
Bill No. 279. Draft 2 was reicrred to Your Committee, dated .lune 8.2004, from Council Chairman
.lames Y. Arakaki, which increases the allowable daily rental cost of U-drive cars and parking charges to
$75.00 a day.
Yow' Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 279, Dian 2 and
recommends it pass lust reading.
