Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 296, reports as follows:
Bill No. 296, transmitted by Director of Finance William 'I'akaba, via Communication No. 296.
dated July 12, 2004, amends Ordinance No. 04-75, as amended, the Capital Budget, ending
,tune 30, 2005, by adding the following project:
PUBLIC WORKS:
Kilauea Corridor Traffic Signal Upgrade 110-399-5395.15 $500,000
Project -Federal
Funds ftir this project shall he provided from Federal grants receivable.
Fhis increases the federal funding for this existing project to $2.1 million. This project consist of
upgrading the signal systems at the intersections of Kilauea Avenue with Kawailani Street,
Kawili Street, Mohouli Street, Aupuni Street and Kekuanao`a Street, including asphalt concrete
paving, and constructing curb ramps and concrete curb/gutter/sidewalks. These additional funds
are being requested to cover anticipated the construction bid amount, cost of construction
engineering and possible future costs such as change orders due to unforeseen conditions.
Some members of Your Committee requested a breakdown of the anticipated construction bid
amount. cost of construction engineering and possible future costs to unforeseen conditions.
'phis information is needed prior to the next Council meeting.
I'or informational purposes. Mr. Tyler voted kanalua twice.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 296 and
recommends it pass first reading.
