Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 706. reports as fttllows:
Communication No. 706, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated July 22, 2004, nominates
Ms. Karolyn P. Lundkvist of Council District 5 to the Hawaii County Police Commission.
An eight-year resident of Hawaii, Ms. Karolyn P. Lundkvist is an accountant with Lundkvist
Aviation. She currently serves as the president of the Rotary Club, and is a past officer and
current member of the Hilo Association for Family and Community Education. She also is a
past member of Teen Court A member of the Republican Party, if confirmed, she would serve a
term to end On December 31, 2008, replacing Mr. Walter Moe, whose term expired on
December 31, 2003.
Pursuant to Article VII, Chapter 2, Section 7-2.2, Hawaii County Charter, the Police
Commission shall consist of nine members...appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the
council in the manner prescribed in Section 13-4.
Your Committee on Finance recommends confirmation of Ms. Karolyn P. Lundkvist to the
[ Iawai'i County Police Commission to serve a term ending December 31, 2008.
