No. 709.1 /Res. No. 216-04 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 216-04, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 216-04, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication <br />No. 709.1, dated July 21, 2004, creates two (2) Equipment Operator 111 positions and two (2) <br />Solid Waste Transfer Station Attendant positions for the Department of Environmental <br />Management-Solid Waste Division. <br />The current staffing level at the South Hilo Sanitary Landfill is unable to provide adequate <br />maintenance activities and waste capacity efficiency. The creation of these positions will help to <br />conserve airspace at the landfill. will increase compaction of waste, and will reduce <br />environmental liabilities relative to litter control. storm water management, and the hazardous <br />waste exclusion program.
