Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 229-04, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 229-04, transmitted by County Clerk Alan S. Konishi, via Communication
No. 737. dated August 17. 2004, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of
more than one tscal year for amulti-year lease for a copy machine.
I~he Oflice of the County Clerk's Reprographics Division wishes to enter into afive-year lease
contract for a copy machine. Funds would he budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated costs.
Pursuant to Section 10-I 1, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
Due to a typographical error found in the NOW, THEREFORE, BE I'F clause of this Resolution,
an amendment was made to read as follows: "...enter into a [~ five-year lease..."
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 229-04,
as amended to Dralt 2, and recommends its adoption.
