The estimated increase in revenues generated effective January 1, 2005 through June 30, 2005 totals $1,015J96. FC REPORT NO. 302 The increase in expenditure appropriations for the Highway Maintenance and "I7affic Divisions of the Department of Public Works totals $677,536 for the following: 1. Fund existing (11) Laborer positions for 6 months. 2. Add (7) new Laborer positions and fund them for 6 months. 3. Add associated costs with new positions/equipment -such as safety equip/tools, equip repairs, fuel/lube, equip parts. 4. Additional contract for services for Traffic Signs and Markings to catch up on backlogged work. I"he Mass'I'ransit Agency services amounts to $338,260 for increased bus service around the island and for use as a local match for federal funds. Respectfully submitted Some members of Your Committee felt that the Mass Transit Agency should be receiving more funds to strengthen the Mass Transit System for the whole island, as it is one of the most important priorities the County government should be undertaking.
