This is the resolution supporting the <br /> development of the Ka'apuni 01-awai'i Pathway. This resolution was <br /> patterned after resolution NCR 136 which was passed by the State House. <br /> As a bike shop owner, sporting event producer, current President of <br /> PATH (Plaople's Advocacy for Trails Hawaii) and widow of a cyclist that <br /> was killed in a cycling accident on the Big Island in 1994, 1 have a keen <br /> interest n the promotion of morn safe areas to recreate. <br /> Thy: work of PATH and other supporting organizations on the Ka'apuni <br /> O'Hawal' Pathway is a great beginning towards providing a safe and <br /> accessible place for recreation and exercise. The support of the Council <br /> of this project is critical in the pursuit of additional funds for this and <br /> <br /> other similar projects. <br /> Wi+:h the growth of Eco-Toijrisrn and the promotion of the Big island <br /> as a spc its and wellness destination, trails such as this are and will <br /> continue to become more and rrmre ;mportant for the future of our <br /> community. <br /> <br /> Sincerely, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Gerry L.
