Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 240-04, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 240-04, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 322 by Director of Finance
William "Fakaba, via Communication No. 759, dated September 10, 2004, authorizes the
acceptance of a grant award for the Department of Environmental Management Solid Waste
Divisions Computer Recycling Project.
The Department of Environmental Management Solid Waste Division has been selected as a
recipient of a $10,000 Dell Recycling Grant award and will be using the funds to conduct a
computer recycling event in West Hawaii in January 2005. The Department of Environmental
Management Solid Waste Division was selected from a competitive group of almost
175 applicants including state and local governments and municipalities, higher education
institutions and non-profit organizations.
Pursuant to Article XIIL Section 13-12, Flawai'i County Charter. the Council on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money, securities. or other personal property or of real
estate or any interest in real estate.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 240-04
and recommends its adoption.
