Your Committee on Finance, to which was reterred Bill No. 330, reports as follows:
Bill No. 330, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 773,
dated September 22, 2004, amends Ordinance No. 04-75, as amended, the Capital Budget
ending .lone 30, 2005, by adding the following project:
PUBLIC WORKS:
Old Volcano Trail Kea`au Town to tlawai'i 110-399-5590.39 $100,000
Volcanoes National Park -Federal
Funds for these projects shall be provided from federal grants receivable.
Funds will be used to re-establish Old Volcano Trail for tourism and recreational travel between
Kea'au Village to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. This project addresses the resource
management needs related to expanded access to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and
includes the planning and design of the Old Volcano Trail Funding for this project is being
provided from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Public [.ands Highways
Discretionary Funds.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 330 and
recommends it pass first reading.
