No. 780/Bill No. 337 <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance. to which was referred Bill No. 337, reports as follows: <br />Bill No. 337, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 780, <br />dated September 22, 2004, amends Ordinance No. 04-74, as amended, the Operating Budget, <br />ending .Lune 30, 2005. The amendment is as follows: <br />From: <br />3302.03 Federal Grants -Speed Enforcement General $22,400 <br />To: <br />Ol 0-201-5219.44 Speed Enforcement General $22.400 <br />The Police Department will be receiving additional funds from the State Department of <br />Transportation Public Affairs -Safe Community Program. The purpose of this speed <br />enforcement grant is to reduce the number of motor vehicle collisions resulting in injuries and <br />fatalities caused by speeding drivers. This appropriation will bring the total grant amount <br />to $56,000. <br />Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County <br />Charter, the Mayor is already authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for this <br />program identified in the Operating Budget. <br />Due to a typographical error in the title an amendment was made to read as follows: "...THE <br />FISCAL YEAR ENDING .TUNE 30, [994] 2005." <br />Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 337. as amended <br />to Draft 2, and recommends it pass first reading. <br />smc <br /> A1'F;S VOF;ti ~8c1?
