Your Committee on Finance. to which was referred Bill No. 337, reports as follows:
Bill No. 337, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 780,
dated September 22, 2004, amends Ordinance No. 04-74, as amended, the Operating Budget,
ending .Lune 30, 2005. The amendment is as follows:

3302.03 Federal Grants -Speed Enforcement General $22,400
To:
Ol 0-201-5219.44 Speed Enforcement General $22.400
The Police Department will be receiving additional funds from the State Department of
Transportation Public Affairs -Safe Community Program. The purpose of this speed
enforcement grant is to reduce the number of motor vehicle collisions resulting in injuries and
fatalities caused by speeding drivers. This appropriation will bring the total grant amount
to $56,000.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County
Charter, the Mayor is already authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for this
program identified in the Operating Budget.
Due to a typographical error in the title an amendment was made to read as follows: "...THE
FISCAL YEAR ENDING .TUNE 30, [994] 2005."
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 337. as amended
to Draft 2, and recommends it pass first reading.
