Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 339, reports as follows:
Bill No. 339, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 244-04 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 782, dated September 22, 2004, amends Ordinance
No. 04-74. as amended, the Operating Budget, ending June 30, 2005. The amendment is as
follows:

3303.42 Federal Grants -HCPD Roadblock General $ l 38,700

010-201-5216.15 HCPD Roadblock Program General $138,700
These funds from the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, Public Affairs -Safe
Community Program will be used to conduct the 52/12 Impaired Driving Program, to establish
roadblocks on all major holidays, to purchase Intoxilyzer units and implement training on its
usage, and to attend traffic safety conferences, seminars, and meetings
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County
Charter, the Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for a Victim
Services program.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 339 and
recommends it pass tirst reading.
