Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 347, reports as follows:
Bill No. 347, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 250-04 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 797, dated October 1, 2004, amends Ordinance
No. 04-74, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending .tune 30, 2005. The amendment is as

These fiords from the I Iawai'i Community Foundation through the U.S. Department of Justice
will he used to purchase needed equipment for the Department's Crime Laboratory and to train
the Criminalists to assist the department in its current "war" against the ice epidemic.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes. and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County
Charter, the Mayor is hereby authorized to apply tor, receive and expend the funds for a
Community Oriented Policing Services grant.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 347 and
recommends it pass first reading.
