The Department of Research & Development will be receiving additional funds from the State of
Hawaii - l~iawai'i Tourism Authority to ensure that the contract management procedures and the
overall administration of the program continue to run smoothly.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County
Charter, Lhe Mayor is already authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for this
program identified in the Operating Budget.
Some members of Your Committee requested a copy of the supplemental agreement from the
Department of Research and Development as soon as it has been received.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 354 and
recommends it pass tirst reading.
