Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 263-04, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 263-04, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 839, dated October 27, 2004. authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of
more than one fiscal year for amulti-year lease for a copier.
Fhe Department of Finance-Accounts llivision wishes to enter into a tive-year lease agreement
for a copier. Funds would he budgeted in future tscal years to cover the anticipated costs.
Pursuant to Section 10-1 1, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
Some members of Your Committee requested a cost comparison between the old and the new
machine. Information is needed prior to the next Council meeting.
For informational purposes. Mr. Tyler voted "kanalua times two."
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 263-04
and recommends its adoption.
