Your Committee on Finances to which was referred BiII No. 369, reports as follows:
Bill No. 369. transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 853,
dated November 9, 2004, amends Ordinance No. 04-75, as amended. the Capital Budget, ending
,Tune 30, 2005, by increasing the following project:
PARKS & RECREATION:
Machado Acres Park

Funds for these projects shall be provided from general fund and/or other sources.
$50,000
Funds will be used to design and construct a neighborhood passive park. The construction cost
for the passive park would include the clearing, grubbing, purchase of fill and landscaping
materials, and rental of equipment. "fhe community members would assist in the project.
These funds, made available by Council Chair James Y. Arakaki's assignment of discretionary
fund monies, will augment the current park allotment to ensure that adequate funding is available
to implement the project. The park site will be for the enjoyment of the community, and will be
constricted to ensure adequate surface water flow through drainage easements, and by removing
large trees and undergrowth that could negatively impact surrounding property owners.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 369 and
recommends it pass first reading.
