Your Committee on Finance. to which was referred Communication No. 855, reports as follows:
Communication No. 855, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, dated November 9, 2004.
authori~ss the acceptance of donations from the Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association and
Mr. Steve Hoag.
Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association has graciously donated one hundred metal folding chairs and a
roll-away stand to the Department of Parks & Recreation for use at Aunty Sally's Luau Hale.
Mr. Steve Hoag has graciously donated $50.00 to the Department of Parks & Recreation for maintenance
and improvements at `Alae Cemetery.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the Count,
may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Also, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(c), of the Hawaii County Code, any donation or
gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the department of finance shall he
submitted to the council by letter for its approval.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association, c/o Ms. Carol Tokuda.

96762, acknowledging these generous donations.
Director of finance William Takaba transmitted a Communication 854.1, dated November 22. 2004.
which states the estimated total value for the one hundred metal folding chairs and roll-away stand is
$ I ,039.48.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the acceptance of the donation of one hundred metal folding
chairs and aroll-away stand from the Hawaii Ballroom Dance Association, and the donation of $50.00
from Mr. Steve Hoag.
