The attached resolution establishing real property tax rates for Fiscal Year July I, 1998 to
June 30, 1999 is attached for your consideration. Proposed tax rates in this resolution have not
changed from the previous year.

RE: Attached Resolution
Pursuant to Section 1(e) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written approval is submitted in regard to Resolution No. 271
determining real property tax rates for the County of Hawaii for FY 1998-1999, waiving said
referral from the Committee on Finance in order that appropriate action can be taken by the
Council.
In reviewing the contents of the referral, it is deemed advisable that such a waiver be granted.
