SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
WAIANUENUE AVENUE/KOMOHANA STREET INTERSECTION
PROPOSED NO RIGHT TURN ON RED
The Department of Public Works will be converting the existing mauka bound left turn phase on
Waianuenue Avenue to a "lagging green." In order for this traffic signal phasing modification to be
effective, it will be necessary to prohibit makai bound right turns onto Komohana Street from
Waianuenue Avenue when the traffic signal indicates red. A location map is attached.
This work is being done to reduce turning movement conflicts and improve traffic safety at this
intersection.
We ask for your review and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment. Should you have any
