SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing the Director of Finance to Enter into Negotiations for the
Acquisition of Kaiholena Ahupua'a Land in North Kohala, Pursuant to Chapter 2,
Article 42, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as Amended)
Attached for your consideration is a resolution authorizing the director of finance to enter into
negotiations, pursuant to chapter 2, article 42, of the Hawai'i County Code, for the acquisition of
the Kaiholena Ahupua`a parcels in North Kohala.
The 2007 Annual Report from the Public Access, Open Space and Natural Resources
Preservation Commission cited as key priority the purchase of the Kaiholena Ahupua'a property.
assigning it an 83 percent criteria score.
Please place this matter before the appropriate committee to meet on May 19. 2008.
