A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Mass Transit Agency ("Mass Transit") provides
public transportation services island-wide; and
WHEREAS, the unanticipated rise in costs associated with the administration of the
Mass Transit program has caused a shortfall in the Agency's budget; and
WHEREAS, this shortfall may result in the scaling back of transportation services
provided by Mass Transit throughout each district within our County; and
WHEREAS, the increase in costs may also cause termination of certain essential
transportation services provided by Mass Transit throughout each district; and
WHEREAS, due to the exigent nature of the circumstances, council funds will be
used as a grant to alleviate this emergency situation which will affect citizens in the entire
County; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Mass Transit Administrator and Director of Finance and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
