RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Paniolo Preservation Society (PPS) has been planning and working hard
at the organization of "The Great Waiomina Centennial Celebration" that commemorates the
proud "paniolo" (cowboy, in hawaiian) heritage of Waimea; and
WHEREAS, "The Great Waiomina Centennial Celebration" will provide Hawaii Island
residents and visitors with a unique experience by showcasing this rich paniolo culture through a
number of events over one entire week, including concerts, rodeos, and a parade; and
WHEREAS, funding has been requested from District 9 to help in the event set up such
as equipment and facility rental; and
WHEREAS, the PPS, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization can act as fiscal sponsor for
the ``The Great Waiomina Centennial Celebration"; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development, to be used to help fund equipment and facility
rental as well as other event necessities; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount be and is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and the Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessazy transfers in accordance with the
terms of the resolution.
