A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, Hui Okinawa, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was started in 1946
specifically to preserve and perpetuate the Okinawan culture in Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, every two years, Hui Okinawa organizes the Haari Boat Race to share
the Okinawan culture with the local community and tourists; and
WHEREAS, the Haari Boat Race will be held this year at Wailoa State Park in Hilo
on Saturday, August 16, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated
to the Department of Research and Development to be contracted to Hui Okinawa for the
2008 Haari Boat Race; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

CREDITED TO:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with
the terms of this resolution.
