Aloha, Mr. Chung,
We support the fair exchange of appropriatr Ha7oai'i Count}' property with SoBay HawaiYs
, acres at Wai'aha Sa.y in North Kona. We belieue that a land sieap facilitates a "win -win" situation by
prouiding the community with the public land ichich it has used for generations as a permanent public
park area while allowing SoBay fair remi.ttort.cr for it's property. This will, as the Resolution states, bP
consistent with Hawai'i County General Plan and Code, while following clear recommendations made
by the Kailua Village Design Com7niss107? and comrmn7ty members echo ovcnvhelmin.gly support
preservation of this area as public open space.
Wai.'aha Bay has, forgenerations, prorided a?z important recreational, cultural, and sub.sistencP
uen,uP to the people of Ha7va7 L_ WP thank CounC i7mon, Tylor and Other eommunity m.embPrs for their
efforts to protect this public area from pr7cute encrouchmcW, and for an.y flexibility which SoBay
Hawai'i, the Mayor, and members of our County Council ma,v exercise in facilitating this exchange.
