I am a landscape contractor from Kona, currently <br /> serving on the Kailua Village Design Commission. I am writing to urge the <br /> Hawaii County Council to use all of its resources to find 9 solution to the problem <br /> facing our community--the development of the beach presently owned by Sobay, <br /> Inc.. While preparing to review this project when it came before the Kailua <br /> Village Design Commission, I stood on the Pxact spot where the ocean side wall <br /> of the proposed condominium might sorrieday stand and was amazed to be <br /> standing--ON THE BEACH! <br /> <br /> It is my hope that the DLNR will certify the shoreline realistically and that the <br /> question of building a four story condo where the Kailua Village Master Plan <br /> calls for two story buildings only, vrill become a moot issue. However, the <br /> potential of losing such an irreplaceable resource for Kailua Village needs to be <br /> addressed from every side and with eve tool at the County's disposal. <br /> <br /> Members of the Committee on Finance, please heed the needs of our community <br /> as they seek to safeguard a lirrited resource for the sake of future generations <br /> while simultaneously protecting the investor-nts of Sobay, Inc. <br /> <br /> Thank you for your attention to this very important matter, <br /> <br /> Garrett Webb <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Comm.
