REZONING From Roy S. Blackshear, President, Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, dated June 5, 1986, informing their board of directors has gone on record in support of the proposed Ahualoa Development in North Kohala and encourages the Council to proceed with the approval of this application as soon as possible. 468.4: Copy of letter to Attorney Sandra E. Pecter Schutte from Ira Leitel, President, North Kohala Business Association, dated May 29, 1986, informing if the developer agrees to some modest changes to Bill 149, their association can support the Ahualoa Development project as one which will add to the development of North Kohala with quality projects consistent with the needs and historic importance of the area. 468.5: Copy of letter to Ira Leitel, President, North Kohala Business Association, from Wellington Chu, President, Ahualoa Development, Inc., dated June 6, 1986, informing he agrees with the Association's suggestions; however, with respect to incremental zoning, believes not only the building condition should be included, but also all of the original agricultural conditions. Further, in light of the agreement reached, he will be submitting an entire redraft of Ordinance 149 to the Planning Committee Chairman. Brooks, Creative Environments, dated June 6, 1986, voicing support for the Waiono Meadows Ranch project for reasons, as stated. 532.5: From R. Tai Lake, Lake Construction, dated June 10, 1986, urging that Waiono Meadows be encouraged to pursue its plans in the format they have proposed, as he feels this proposal will allow them the margins they require to fully address the existing problems and the anticipated impacts associated with this development. 532.6: From Shoji Kawahara, Chairman, pro tem, ad hoc committee, dated June 12, 1986, submitting for consideration, a Position Statement, and urges the Council to deny the proposal of Waiono Meadows Ranch, Ltd. because of the possibility of increased and aggravated flooding in the area. Comm. 638: STUDENT GOVERNMENT AT WEST OAHU COLLEGE From Mike Chun, dated June 5, 1986, requesting a resolution be passed in support of the formation of a student government at West Oahu College. Comm. 639: REZONING REQUEST - KEALAKEKUA RANCH, LTD. (Bill 202) KEALAKEKUA, SOUTH KONA TMK: 8-2-15:27(portion) and 28 (6.443 acres) From Barbara A. Koi, Chairperson, Planning Commission, dated June 10, 1986, submitting for adoption, a bill to change the district classification from a Single Family Residential - 10,000 square foot (RS-10) to a Single Family Residential - 7,500 square foot (RS-7.5) at Kealakekua, South Kona. Comm. 640: TIME EXTENSION TO CONDITION C OF ORDINANCE 706 (Bill 203) APPLICANT: JOHN BELLMAN WAIAKAIULA, PUNA TMK: 1-5-13:35 From Barbara A. Koi, Chairperson, Planning Commission, dated June 10, 1986, recommending approval of the request for a time extension to Condition C of Change of Zone Ordinance No. 706.
