of a resolution the Statewide EMS Advisory Committee
adopted at its meeting of January 21, 1987, which
supports the efforts being made to promote water safety
education for residents and visitors in Hawaii.

1987, transmitting, as requested at the Planning
Committee's April 7, 1987 meeting, copies of the Final
EIS for Makalawena Resort. Informs that although the
EIS has been accepted, their review of the General Plan
Amendment petition is not yet complete.

amending the General Plan Land Use Pattern Allocation
Guide Map and General Plan for Kona Beach Development
Venture, L. P.
The recommendation is being forwarded for the reasons
and with conditions as outlined in the Analysis in
Support of the Petition, which was prepared by the
Planning Department and expanded by the Planning
Commission.
Also, transmits for information, copy of the revised
Environmental Impact Statement, a complete copy of the
transcripts, and a map of the proposed area.
Comm.1062: HOUSE RESOLUTION 453
(Res. 303) From Councilwoman Merle K. Lai dated April 14, 1987,
submitting for adoption, a resolution supporting
passage of House Resolution 453, which proposes the
establishment of an interim committee to study the
problems and effects surrounding agricultural
leaseholds.
Also transmits copy of a letter supporting House
Resolution 453 to House Speaker Daniel Kihano, dated
April 9, 1987, from Councilmembers James L. K. Dahlberg
and Merle K. Lai.
