Bill 297 amends Chapter 16, Hawai `i <br /> County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), Planning, by incorporating provisions to <br /> establish a framework to adopt and amend the Community Development Plans (CDP) and also to <br /> establish CDP Action Committees . <br /> The proposed amendments intend to clarify certain aspects of the CDP Action Committee's role <br /> and responsibilities as well as correct minor wording as agreed with the Department of Planning. <br /> The proposed amendments are illustrated via Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of <br /> Bill 297, bolded for illustrative purposes, and reads as follows: <br /> 1. Amend SECTION 1 to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "SECTION l . Purpose. The purposes of this ordinance are: 1) to <br /> establish a framework to adopt and amend the Community Development Plans <br /> and 2) to establish the Community Development Plan (CDP) Action <br /> Committee [ ]that shall succeed each CDP <br /> Steering Committee upon adoption of a community development plan by the <br /> County Council." <br /> <br /> <br /> 2.
