I hope the Finance Committee \\ill support the issue of trading count- properth
for the SOB AY propem at ai'aha Ba,\ .
Certainh. as properth rights go. SOBA has a right to build this building. But
comm1Lutiri rights are also at issue here. Kona has all too fe\\ beaches and lNe all
need to haze access to the fo%N that vNe do hate. Trading this propem for another
one N\ ill benefit both the communir` and the propem owner.
Furthermore. pacing driNen by that beach eN erv dar for ten wars. I can't believe
it \yould be SAFE to put a 21 unit condominium there. I lied for nearlN ten rears
on Alit Drive and have seen ~Ohat high naves can do-. and x\ill do... to anything
close to the eater's edge. If nothing else. the 21 potential owsners of these units
"ould also be protected.. as could the counh. from drtrtre litigation.
Our beaches arc fragile treasures and should be protected. not exploited.
