Dear Chairman Hoffmann and Council Members:
The Solid Waste Division (SWD} of the Department of Environmental Management
(DEM) for the County of Hawaii is updating the Integrated Solid Waste Management
Plan (ISWMP). Prior to preparing a plan, the county is required by HRS §342G-22, to
form a Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAG) appointed by the Mayor.
It is my pleasure to inform you that I have appointed the following ten individuals to the
newly formed Solid Waste Advisory Committee:
