Bob Jacobson plans on squandering more taxpayers monies on a project he does not fully know how to
implement. He has thus far failed to resolve the excessive waste of recyclables that goes into our
landfills on a daily basis.
1. There are no employees at the failing Transfer Stations aka. "Local Dumps" to open and examine the
trash before entering the chutes to ensure N0 RECYCLABLES are going into the waste stream.
Nobody at the Department of Environmental Management (DEM) nor Bob Jacobson see the need for
this inspection. How else can one expect Zero Waste.
2. We need recycling out in the open not hidden away at transfer station, local dumps where few
recycle. People want to get in and out of those filthy places as soon as possible. Putting recycling in
convenient locations in our shopping centers where we frequent on a re ular basis makes us more

inclined to recycle. Recycling in the open makes it possible for tourists to recycle. This is a "No
Brainer".
3. Why not try "Reverse Vending Machines" which have been around for quite some time. Think of how
much waste could get recycled if these machines were put near beverage machines, alongside recycle
bins where we can put the rest of our salvageable trash.
4. Privatize Recycling and put it in the hands of experts who are makin a livin at it. DEM is not

successful at operating their facilities and is still trying to corner the market on recycling at their local
dumps while they fail to keep them clean, safe and user friendly. Privitazation takes the burdens off
"WE" the Taxpayers.
We do not need to spend $50,000 on a study. Put that money into solving the problems with the methods
above instead of wasting valuable time not solving the problems we face. Do not study the problem fix
