Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of Patrick G. Edie
of Ka'u to the Hawaii County Board of Appeals to replace Deanna
Hammersley of Kona who resigned on May 13, 1998, as she is
leaving the County for an extended period of time.
Mr. Edie is a 28-year resident of Hawaii. Since 1983, he has
been with the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation, and
currently serves as its manager. His community activities
include membership to the Aloha Performing Art Center, the
Volcano Art Center, and the Pahala Community Adult Education
Program. Mr. Edie is not a member of any political party.
If approved, Mr. Edie will serve the balance of the unexpired
term which will end on December 31, 1999. Should the Council
require further information regarding this nomination, you may
call me at your convenience.
