Subject: An Ordinance Amending Chapter 2, Administration, Hawaii County Code 1983
(2005 Edition, as Amended), Establishing the Energy Sustainability Department.
Attached for your consideration is an ordinance establishing the framework for a new Energy
Sustainability Department in Chapter 2, Administration, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005
Edition, as amended).
The establishment of this new department is the direct result of the recommendations from the
Hawaii County Sustainable Energy Plan, dated October 2, 2007, from the Department of'
Research and Development.
Please place this matter before the appropriate committee to meet on June 17, 2008.
