Botelho, Sr. and I am speaking in opposition to Resolution 289-98. When Ka'upulehu Makai venture received approval to rezone the land for the Ka'upulehu Makai Development, it received the approval on the basis that certain conditions were to be met. Ka'upulehu Makai Venture agreed to those conditions. For whatever reason, Ka'upulehu Makai Venture did not meet the affordable housing conditions; no ground work was ever started on this project. It appears that Ka'upulehu Makai Venture had no intentions of ever meeting the affordable housing conditions. The efforts being made to have the conditions amended appears that the integrity of the commitment is highly questionable. A commitment was made and the commitment should be adhered to. I oppose the efforts to make an amendment to the conditions. I ask that the County Council vote "against" this resolution. Thank you for your consideration and for allowing me this opportunity to express my views. ,s;rYm. Na. rile No. Ns& Stef. To DAe ,n 11 11998
