RESOLUTION NO. F~60 08
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE MONETARY CONTRIBUTION
FROM THE FIREMANS FUND INSURANCE COMPANY FOR THE HAWAII FIRE
DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company has a grant program called Fireman's Fund
Heritage, which issues funds to fire departments throughout the United States for various needs; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department was granted $14,700, from this program, to purchase air
purifying respirators for SCBAs and used by firefighters in high sulfur dioxide conditions as with the
current volcanic activity; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this contribution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this contribution.
