Dear Council Member Yoshimoto:
Thank you for the opportunity to review and provide comments on the proposed bill to amend
the capital budget by appropriating $25,000 to provide for the Hokupa`a Street Drainage
Project.
As noted in your letter, the intent of this project is to mitigate localized flooding conditions on
Hokupa`a Street in Hilo. The Department of Public Works reports that these additional funds
will help with its flood control and maintenance program. This project is supported.
Thank you for your responsiveness to your constituents, and I thank you again for the
opportunity to provide comments on your proposal.
