Re: Request to have my Personal Attorney Present During Executive Sessioh
On June 3, 2008
I am hereby requesting that my attorney be allowed to attend the executive
session regarding the Chang vs. County of Hawaii matter scheduled on June 3,
2008.
To date, I have followed what I felt was the most prudent course and have not
tried to interject myself into the case. As I was not named as a party, I felt it
prudent to do as I was instructed and cooperated fully with the Corporation
Counsel's handling of the case.
While I am not a party to the case, based on the reports in the newspaper from an
anonymous source and the subsequent articles that have appeared, I feel that I
have suffered the most damage in terms of reputation and character. I therefore,
find it necessary at this point to retain counsel who I feel can best protect my
interest and request that my counsel be present at any time this case is discussed
to protect my rights and interests.
I look forward to a prompt reply to insure that my attorney will be available to
attend the executive session. Please contact my staff with your decision to this
matter. Thank you.
