Please consider this email my testimony supporting Bill 285. 1 am a resident of the Island of Hawaii, 1464, woNng and voting in
Kamuela. cxt
We desperately need to improve our infrastructure to make it safe for our children to walk or bike to school. The planning that went
into our sidewalks and streets in the past has left us with an unsafe area for pedestrians and bicycle riders. At a time when citizens
should be concentrating on minimizing our use of vehicle transportation and maximizing healthful activities like walking and biking we
need the help of our elected officials to see that we have the infrastructure that Bill 285 provides.
I would also like to testify in support of the Waimea Trail and Greenway project. This is a project that we as a community have been
trying to get done for over 10 years. It will provide a greenway through Waimea that will promote healthy activities like walking,
running & biking. It will provide access throughout our town, away from the hazardous streets. Please fund this important project.
