Comm. 856: APPOINTMENT TO THE HAWAII COUNTY KAILUA VILLAGE DESIGN
COMMISSION -CHARLES R. CARTWRIGHT
From Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated May 18, 1998, submitting for
confirmation the following appointment to the Kailua Village Design
Commission:
Mr. Charles R. Cartwright of Kona, a lifetime resident of Hawaii
who, since 1987, has been the President of Big Island Inspection
Services.
If confirmed, Mr. Cartwright will replace Mr. Lloyd S. Nakano (whose
employment required him to move out-of-state), and will serve the
balance of the unexpired term, which will end on December 31, 1999.

ARTICLE V, CHAPTER 4, SECTION 5-4.1 RELATING TO THE PLANNING
DEPARTMENT (ADDING THAT THE COUNCIL BY ORDINANCE MAY
CREATE PLANNING COMMISSIONS WITHIN THE COUNTY, ASSIGN
THEM SUCH POWERS AND DUTIES AS ARE APPROPRIATE AND
DEMARCATE THE GEOGRAPHICAL BOUNDARIES OF SUCH ENTITIES)

seen on Thursday, June 4 at 8:30 p.m. and Thursday, June 11 at 8:30 p.m. All the above
meetings will be aired on Sunday, June 14 at 9 a.m.
