Subject: Bill 285
Dear Council Members:
Please support Bill 285 for the full $112 million bond float. This Bill contains funding
for projects my family and I care deeply about as well as our friends who are members of
the community. This bill is very important to the Waimea community because it is
important to the safety of children walking/bicycling to and from school. Waimea Trails
and Greenways is the way of the future for all communities that care about the people
living in it. It will be looked to by other communities as the one on Kauai is currently
looked at.
Bill 285 is also crucial to helping alleviate traffic in Waimea and helping with the
general health, fitness and well-being of our children, families and realistically all
members of our community. Given fuel costs, carbon emissions, etc. having fit community
members who bike and walk more will encourage them to consider alternative means of
transportation in their every day living.
