Subject: Low Level C-17 Training Flights over the Big Island
Dear Dominic,
Thank you sincerely for your efforts in allowing community input toward the proposed MTR over the
Big Island.
I wish to register my most fervent objection to making these populated areas into military training
grounds. I have grave concerns regarding the co-option of this unregulated air space, because that is
what the proposal amounts to.
What will happen to the helicopter and small plane flights over the area? How can we guarantee the
safety of the communities affected? What is the Air Force's attitude to potential civilian fatalities as
well as acute disruption of lifestyle?
I understand that there are better training areas available at other national military bases. I wish to go on
record as strongly objecting to the proposed C-17 training route over the Big Island.
