RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A GRANITE SIGN AND
RELATED COSTS FOR `ALAE CEMETERY
WHEREAS, Sasaki Monuments has donated a granite sign, matching stands, stainless steel rods,
letter template, sandblasting, installation and freight costs to the Department of Parks and Recreation for
`Alae Cemetery; and
WHEREAS, this donation has a estimated total value of $9,650; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this
donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`1 that
in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. Michael Sasaki, Sasaki
Monuments, 904 Wainaku Avenue, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this donation.
