Comm. 760: PLANNING DIRECTOR INITIATED CHARTER
(Bill 211) AMENDMENT TO THE HAWAII COUNTY CHARTER (1991),
RELATING TO THE PLANNING DIRECTOR, PLANNING
COMMISSION AND BOARD OF APPEALS
From Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated March 4, 1998,
transmitting a letter, staff background report, copy of the Planning
Commission's hearing transcript as well as the ordinance bill for
the above-mentioned Charter amendment from Planning
Commission Chairman Kevin M. Balog.
Comm. 760.01: From Deanna Hammersley, Chairperson, Boazd of Appeals, dated
March 30, 1998, transmitting their comments on Bi11211.
Included in the bill is a proposal to move the Board of Appeals
from the Planning Department to the Office of the Corporation
Counsel for administrative purposes. States the Board opposes
said proposal for reasons, as given.

The Public Works & Parks Committee and Finance Committee meetings can be seen on
Tuesday, April 14 at 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday, April 21 at 8:30 p.m. The Human Services
& Economic Development Committee and Planning Committee meetings can be seen on
Thursday, April 16 at 8:30 p.m. and Thursday, Apri123 at 8:30 p.m.
All the above meetings will be aired on Sunday, April 26 at 9 a.m.
