COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />Miv os N V <br />•~~ ~• STATE OF HAWAII <br />;•~.~ <br />••T~ OF ~M~'~ <br />RESOLUTION NO. 693 ~8 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br />WHEREAS, the American Red Cross, Hawaii State Chapter has requested funds to purchase <br />disaster relief supplies for Hawaii Island; and <br />WHEREAS, the mission of the American Red Cross is to prevent and alleviate human <br />suffering by helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to disasters; and <br />WHEREAS, the American Red Cross is the only organization mandated by congress to <br />respond to disasters and provide emergency communication to military families, and the only local <br />nonprofit organization that meets the needs of disaster victims any time of the day, 365 days a year; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the American Red Cross provides all disaster response and training to the public <br />free of charge; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the <br />Department of Research and Development to be used towards the American Red Cross, to purchase <br />disaster relief supplies; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $5,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $5,000 <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.161.5162.98 Department of Research and Development $5,000 <br />Hi Cty. Resource Center, Misc. Contract Services <br />(American Red Cross, disaster relief supplies) <br />
