RESOLUTION NO. 691 (~8
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the 4th of July is a national celebration commemorating the adoption of the
Declaration of Independence in 1776; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Culture & Arts Division is sponsoring
apre-fireworks entertainment with local performers including the County of Hawaii Band; and
WHEREAS, the 4`h of July Fest is an alcohol-free and drug free event, which will be held on
July 4, 2008, from 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Mo`oheau Park Bandstand in Downtown Hilo; and
WHEREAS, enhancing the overall event is the 2"d Annual Barbeque contest which will be
held in the parking lot area adjacent to the Mo`oheau Park Ball Field; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the
Department of Parks and Recreation, Culture and Arts Division to be used to help defray some of the
cost associated with the 4th of July Fest program; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $5,850
CREDITED TO:
010.500.5517.02 Department of Parks and Recreation $5,850

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution
to the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
