RESOLUTION NO. 690 08
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has requested funds to help
defer cost for the Moku O Keawe International Festival set for November 5-9, 2008 in
Waikoloa; and
WHEREAS, the Festival features a hula competition, arts, crafts and traditional
workshops in the art and cultures practices; and
WHEREAS, specialized instructors will provide three days of workshops in the
various traditional arts (Puniu, Lei Wili, Uluuli, `Ohe Kapala, water color/oil painting, and
drawing with a cultural basis); and
WHEREAS, each instructor will provide one-to-one instruction along with all
supplies, equipment and materials; and
WHEREAS, students from around the State, the Mainland and Japan will participate
in the festival; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation, Culture and Arts Division to the be used towards the
Moku O Keawe International Festival; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $6,500
CREDITED TO:
010.500.5517.02 Department of Parks and Recreation $6,500

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with
the terms of this resolution.
